Black Phantom Chronicles Card Deck Behind the Scenes Part 9

Beta Test Reviews
Jeffrey Chen: The art was amazing, it felt like a real deck of playing cards in my hands. The only things I saw were a few inconsistencies in the numbers in the center of the cards where some of the numbers cut off from each other.John MacLeod: I was extremely impressed that you already had physical examples of the cards to pass around. The borders looked very nice, and having a new one for every suit was really cool. The artwork looked like it was from an old story-book or something. For the negatives, I think it might be tough to tell a suit at first glance without knowing where to look. The numbers are dead center too, making holding them a little weird. A number on the top left might help a bit for that. The cards are also harder to read when not rightside-up. All that said, I would love to play a game of solitaire with these.
Stephani Flanigan: I feel that the best way to maybe fix the number bit that John mentioned could be to push the number up and then flip a copy underneath it so that they meet in the middle. The number sitting dead center does take away from the card playing part. I think using the element of cards being able to be read up or down would help if the numbers were placed in such a way. That way, when getting a card, you know what number you have and what suit you have even if you do draw it upside down. I like in the pdf that the picture of the suit on the bottom right was taking away. It is nicer and gives it a cleaner look after seeing it on the card itself. Having that suit picture next to another suit without separation seemed off and made the corner feel more cluttered than it actually was.
I love the cards and I cannot wait to see the finished products. Do you plan on letting us have cards of our own if we pay for the printing not that I can because I am broke but I am sure a lot of our other classmates might like the idea to have the choice.
Esther Wallace: When I am done, I plan on making an Esty account and selling the card deck through it. So, yes, anyone who is interested can purchase a copy of their own.
Joseph Urena: I think the physical cards looking really great. The quality of the physical cards is amazing. I agree with what everybody mentioned about the numbers on the cards. Cards always are numbered on the top left. The actual artwork of the cards came out really good. I look forward to seeing the updated cards.
Jeffrey Verbickas: The only negatives I see were addressed in class. The size of the writing and the inconsistency in the numbers (some being connected and some not).
The cards you passed out looked very professional. I think the issues with the numbers mentioned above aren't really a problem.
My brother has a set of star wars cards where every card had to be held in one direction so you could read them. It wasn't a problem turning them over in your hands.
Forrest Fee: I second Jeffery V's statement. You're project is near completion from the looks of it from the beta test and everything seems to be coming along well. I just suggest having an unbiased source take a look at them for anything you or any of us may have missed. The fonts have already been brought to your attention but don't forget the grammar! I remember I reminded you of the grammatical error on your Ace card, just little stuff like that is all. Other than that I feel like the cards will come out awesome next week!
